The contrast carries a confound, noted below.\n\n## Method\n\nEvaluator: Google AI Mode, single surface, logged out. Three draws, each a\nfresh conversation. The requirements were capability-framed rather than\npriced: an unqualified category recommendation, then a two-hundred-person\ndistributed company running internal and external webinars, then real-time\nin-meeting speech translation, then external participants joining in the\nbrowser with no install. Instrument details and scoring are retained\ninternally.\n\n## Direct observations\n\n- The field survived in every draw, and the vendors that survived to the end\n were the same major platforms that opened it, Zoom, Google Meet, and\n Microsoft Teams, rather than new entrants.\n- Specialist translation tools appeared only briefly and never became the\n recommended platform.\n- The opening leader, Zoom, led through the first three turns in all three\n draws and lost first place at the browser-join requirement every time, the\n first requirement it structurally could not meet.\n- Zoom survived demoted in two draws and was eliminated in one. Google Meet\n was dropped mid-sequence in all three draws and returned to first place at\n the browser-join requirement each time.\n- Pricing was volunteered without being asked in every draw.\n\n## Interpretation (not established)\n\nIn this category and on this surface, the field survived by keeping its members\nand reordering them, rather than by replacing them. The leader lost its lead at\nthe first requirement it could not satisfy, which is consistent with the\nposition-based pattern seen elsewhere, here as demotion rather than\nelimination. This run cannot separate market maturity from the kind of\nrequirement used, because the requirements here were capability-framed while\nthe churn run they contrast with used pricing-framed requirements. The two move\ntogether, so maturity is not shown to be the cause.\n\n## Outcome and remaining uncertainty\n\nSupported: the field survived with stable membership and the leader was moved\nout of first place at a specific requirement, both in all three draws, which is\nwhat the run was built to detect. The scope is narrow. One evaluator, one\nsurface, three draws, no removal test, nothing causal. The stable-versus-churn\ncontrast with the CRM run is confounded with requirement framing and is\nregistered as a candidate observation carrying that confound, not as an\nestablished cause.","url":"/experiments/E-045","machineUrl":"/objects/E-045","referencedBy":[{"from":"category-dependent-survivability","rel":"derives-from"},{"from":"field-vs-membership-distinction","rel":"derives-from"},{"from":"incumbent-head-inversion","rel":"derives-from"}],"_meta":{"site":"Upstream Zero · Commercial Intelligence for AI-Mediated Commercial Evaluation","version":"0.1","note":"Claims are presented at their evidence tier; Narrated is the lowest.
