Competitor displacement studies substitution inside the recommendation set: when one vendor leaves or another enters, which competitor takes the place, and what drives the swap. It is the mirror image of elimination, seen from the vendor that benefits.
The core question is what governs which competitor replaces which. This component is defined but has no dedicated published run yet; it is named here so future work has a home.
