Discoverability tactic

What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?

Generative Engine Optimization, or GEO, is the practice of structuring and publishing content so that generative AI systems retrieve, cite, and include a company in their answers.

How it works

GEO focuses on clear, structured, quotable content, consistent entity information, and presence in the sources a model draws on, so the system can find and reference you.

Why it matters

As buyers ask AI systems for recommendations, being retrievable and citable is a real prerequisite. GEO works on that prerequisite.

The deeper question

Being found is not the same as being chosen.

GEO optimizes for being cited. Commercial evaluation asks whether, once cited, you survive the buyer's specific requirements and become the recommendation. Citation is upstream of selection, not the same as it.

We do not do GEO. We observe the evaluation that runs after retrieval, so you can see which requirement removes you and what evidence would change the outcome.

What commercial evaluation actually is

Common questions

Is GEO the same as commercial evaluation?
No. GEO is a set of tactics for being retrieved and cited. Commercial evaluation is the decision process that runs on top of retrieval and determines who is actually recommended. We study the second.
Do you offer GEO services?
No. We measure and diagnose commercial evaluation. We do not promise citations, rankings, or inclusion, and we are not a GEO agency.
