Answers business questions
- Why did another vendor become the recommendation?
- How do AI systems evaluate and recommend vendors?
Across five categories, the vendor that led the opening recommendation lost its lead at the first requirement it structurally could not satisfy. The removal appeared to target the leading position rather than a particular vendor: in CRM (E-041) the leader changed between draws, HubSpot in one and Salesforce in the others, yet whichever vendor led was removed at the same step in every draw.
The pattern took different forms. In some categories the leader was eliminated at the first requirement; in accounting (E-043) it survived one requirement and was removed at the second; in video conferencing (E-045) it was demoted rather than eliminated. It is held, not promoted. The runs above used mostly one evaluator, and whether the same holds across evaluators is an open question.
